It is essential to learn life skills and to practice hygiene and self-care. Students are equipped with toiletry items and follow visual instructions to encouraging good health and self-awareness.
We have an enviable collection of resources to promote protective behaviours for every child’s right to feel safe. We give a consistent message that everyone has “the right to feel safe at all times” and that “we can talk with someone about anything, no matter what it is.”
As part of our life skills training we have a Community Access Program (CAPS) to take students on regular outings where we venture out of the classrooms to practise our social skills that have been taught to students previously. This also includes community awareness, learning how to use public transport and to enhance and support the student’s understanding of things we have learnt in the classroom.
